In HER words:
FEED is a privately owned pediatric nutrition counseling business founded in 2008 by registered dietitian Lara Field, MS, RD, CSP, LDN.
Kids need guidance from mom and dad in everything from brushing their teeth to putting on clothes to riding a bike! But when it comes to making smart eating decisions, however, many parents don’t practice healthy eating habits themselves. I am a Chicago based pediatric dietitian, who can help teach you the vital tools needed to establish a healthy lifestyle. Learn from FEED and help your kids Form Early Eating Decisions that will last a lifetime!
I can’t be next to you as you’re helping your child to take her first steps, but I can help your children with: healthy eating habits, eating on the run, grocery shopping advice, food allergies/intolerance management, celiac disease/gluten intolerance, type 1 diabetes, high cholesterol, liver disease, obesity, feeding tube management, failure to gain weight, in addition to many other diagnoses.
I have always had a passion for kids’ nutrition. With over nine years experience in clinical practice at two of the top ranked pediatric hospitals in the country, Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and University of Chicago Medical Center. I have specialized in pediatric nutritional care including the pediatric intensive care unit and pediatric gastroenterology and hepatology clinics. I am board certified as a specialist in pediatric nutrition (CSP) and have completed the requirements of the Food Allergy & Intolerance Management & PAC Registered Dietitian Consultant Training Program.
I completed my Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and completed a Master’s of Science degree and dietetic internship from Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. During my internship, I completed additional specialized pediatric training at Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago and John’s Hopkins in Baltimore.
I currently live in Chicago with my husband, Tom, and son, Tyler, who was born in April 2008. As an avid runner, I have completed three marathons, including the Chicago Marathon in 2006 and 2009, and Boston Marathon in 2007. An acclaimed “foodie”, I have a deep love for dining at the newest restaurants, cooking and testing new recipes, and especially enjoy preparing foods for Tyler.
