Freshly Launched Women in Business :: Luv Handles

Freshly Launched :: Luv Handles

Launched :: Tia Song Roberts

LaunchHER Says :: Tia make pretty gifts by embellishing everything from candy scoops to salad tongs with gorgeous bead work.

In HER Words :: I have FINALLY found a Luv Handle that men, women, children, brides, sushi lovers, coffee lovers, wine lovers and hostesses all love. These are the Luv Handles you will LOVE to grab!

The idea was sparked while I was doing what I love: hosting! Our friends joined us one night for dinner and brought a salad in a glass bowl with cute beaded servers. I couldn’t stop thinking about them and I knew I had to have some, so I set out to find them.  To my surprise I couldn’t find the style I was looking for. The others that I found were not as fully beaded, glamorous or beautiful.  So, I decided to make my own.  Then instantly friends and family were asking for their own and Luv Handles was born.  It has been such an amazing fun ride and I love every part of this unpredictable journey!

Launched :: Christina Barber

LaunchHER Says :: Christina’s candles, sprays and fragrances combine pretty packaging, great scents and good sense: they are ” free of parabens, phthalates, and harsh chemicals”.

In HER Words :: Formed on a love of chemistry and all things that smell fabulous, I began on a quest to formulate quality, handcrafted products using the best and most conscious ingredients.  After many years of research and development, I opened the doors to Briar Muse.  The products offered in our line range from soy/botanical blended candles, non-burning home fragrance, and handcrafted bath and body products.  I thoroughly enjoy testing and researching new products, and am often found in the “lab” whipping up something new.  The best payoff is when others enjoy using your product as much as you enjoy creating it.

Freshly Launched Women in Business :: For My Sweet Daughter

Freshly Launched :: For My Sweet Daughter

Launched :: Shannon Chomanczuk

LaunchHER Says :: Shannon makes a lot of great jewelry. Her copper etched pieces, which take days to make by hand, are truly remarkable.

In HER Words :: I am a wife, salon owner, nail artist, jewelry designer and most importantly a mother. I began creating jewelry eight years ago after attending a jewelry party. The birth of my daughter in 2009 was a turning point in my life. Her birth has given me a clear design vision, something I didn’t know was missing.

I never tire of making jewelry and can often be found at the dining room table into the wee hours of the morning. Then, about a year ago I started creating my own line of etched copper beads and pendants. I love the feeling of manipulating the metal into beautiful pieces of wearable art. I combine my etched copper pieces with artisan made beads and a whimsical mix of gemstones and crystals.

Spark & Hustle Wrap-up

Spark and Hustle Minneapolis

We recently had the pleasure of welcoming Tory Johnson of Spark & Hustle {of Good Morning America & Women for Hire, too} to Minneapolis for a one day conference focusing on women entrepreneurs.

From start to finish is was a wonderful conference, and we wish we could tell you each and every detail.  However, we know you don’t want to spend breakfast, lunch, and dinner reading this post – so here’s the abbreviated version…

Rhoda Olsen the CEO of Great Clips kicked off our day and  had so many valuable insights to share after so many years in business, here are just a few snipets:
  • The role of a leader is to grow and change herself
  • Leaders need to figure out the vision that drives them
  • Each of us needs to figure out what we need to do differently, on an individual basis, to be the leader that we want to be.
Jill Blashack Strahan, whom was featured last fall on LaunchHER, had all of our attention as she told her powerful business {and personal} story about Tastefully Simple
  • Keep a “Discovery Journal” — one for your personal life, home and business
  • write down what your “perfect” life would look like
  • Dream It. Believe It. Work It.

Tory Johnson did and incredible job of keeping the day lively, fun, and informative…

  • In sharing her “pink slip” moment, she reminded us all that the naysayers ask “Why would you give up a steady paycheck for something risky?”
  • When it comes to selling, know the difference between asking and hinting!
  • Every woman has the “spark”

It is always a huge joy when we get to meet some of our local LaunchHER League members in person! Here’s who we spotted at Spark & Hustle…

Spark and Hustle

Kara and Talia from Eleanore's Treasures

Spark and Hustle

Deirdre from Deirdre and Co.

Spark and Hustle

Erika from the Daily Whip and Tracy

Tory still has many cities left on her Spark & Hustle tour.  If she is coming to a city near you, it would be a great business investment to attend one yourself.  Each city has it’s own charm because Tory finds local women {and a few men} in business to share their story at the conference.

Freshly Launched Women in Business :: Knit Girl in Idaho

Freshly Launched :: Knit Girl in Idaho

Launched :: Reni LeBard

LaunchHer Says ::  Hmm, Reni’s personalized stitch markers. If I send some to Grandma with my photo on them, maybe she’ll knit an afghan for me? (Sneaky laugh.)

In HER Words :: I specialize in creating personalized and novelty stitch markers that are used in knitting and crochet.  By taking a photo of your child, pet, or best friend, I can turn that photo into a keepsake charm and put the fun in an otherwise functional stitch marker.  I can also put your personal logo or design, names, dates, quotes, or phrases on the charms.

Aside from personalized charms, my most popular stitch markers are the Jane Austen, the Owls and my own signature Knit Girl & Yarn Snob stitch markers.  If you aren’t a knitter, I also create custom wine charms!

Freshly Launched Women in Business :: Art Queen Claire

Freshly Launched :: Art Queen Claire on Etsy

Launched :: Claire Lee

LaunchHER Says :: If you love flowers, you’ll love Claire. She puts blossoms on everything and, as you can see from her photo, has personality to spare!

In HER Words ::  Flowers abound in my artwork of bead weaving and flower jewelry…all inspired by the garden outside the home I call my castle.

I hand make flowers from strips of fabric and, like the crazy Queen I am, go to endless lengths to match adornments for my treasures or I incorporate flowers into my beading.

I’ve retired into the job I always wanted to have, creating pretty things.  The ArtQueenClaire moniker came from my It’s Good To Be Queen! art, and it stuck.  My first Etsy shop is called Red4Short.  For that shop I crochet, knit and make paper art.
