{Brand Protection in 3 Steps} Celebrate World Intellectual Property Day

To celebrate World Intellectual Property Day, here are 3 steps you can take now to protect your brand:

  1. Register for trademark protection with the United States Patent and Trademark Office. Consider registering your logo, brand name, or product names.
  2. Register your original works for copyright protection. Federal copyright registration gives your original works additional protection against copycats.
  3. Protect your business secrets with a Non-Disclosure Agreement {NDA}. Non-Disclosure Agreements prevent others from stealing your business secrets. Think this doesn’t apply to you? Think again. Business secrets may be your business processes, procedures, ideas, methods, formulas, patterns & other confidential information.

Don’t wait to protect your business’s intellectual property ~ take steps today & sleep easy tonight.

{Not sure where to start? We can help! LaunchHER offers affordable trademark, copyright, NDAs & more, provided by licensed attorney, Kara Jensen Zitnick. Contact us hello@LaunchHER.com for more information.}

{freshly launched} Women in Business :: Pushing Papers

Freshly Launched :: Pushing Papers

Launched :: Bee Eastman

LaunchHER Says :: After waiting anxiously for months, Pushing Papers is launched! Bee’s eye for stunning, heirloom-quality, letterpress is like none other. Her carefully curated selection will satisfy even the most particular paper lover.

In HER Words ::

A self-proclaimed memory gatherer, Bee draws upon her favorites of vacations, romance, holidays, and vintage memorabilia to design products that savor beautiful moments.

Turning over new opportunities is like opening a fresh notebook for Bee and she writes her own story on the pages of Pushing♥Papers. Fine stationery and the art of letter writing had been handed down from her mother who wrote a thank you note for every gift and every kindness she received. Each sentence, each thought, was a work of love.

It was time to build her own work of love – a stationery line that whispers of the past and speaks to the future.

Pushing♥Papers is more than quality cards and stationery, it’s taking a moment to live in the present, while being wrapped in the love of the past. It’s beautifully presented acts of gratitude and adoration. It’s the value of yesterday, the joy of today, the hope of tomorrow.

Happy Earth Day! Celebrate Earth Day today and everyday without sacrificing style & class. We are loving Pretty Birdie’s soybean & organic cotton pencil skirt. The side elastic makes for a very forgiving silhouette. Pair it with Tina Dean Design’s gorgeous pewter gray clutch, crocheted using plastic bags, recently gifted to Tina Fey! Give it all a rock’n roll edge with recycled guitar string earrings from Eye on Sparrow.

{freshly launched} Women In Business :: Sweet Iced Tea

Freshly Launched :: Sweet Iced Tea

Launched :: Katie Harp

LaunchHER Says :: Katie’s design eye is spot-on for what is hot & now. Monogram + chevron + pops of color, on totes, notepads, invites, water bottles, ipad covers — we dare you to declare a favorite. You just may not be able to. And that’s okay, because each item gives back in it’s own way by being socially consciously sourced.

In HER Words :: I am a full-time college student, computer geek, and serial internet entrepreneur who founded Sweet Iced Tea last year to combine my passion for design and socially conscious products. We have a variety of invitations printed on recycled paper as well as other gifts like monogrammed tote bags made by mothers in Kenya to support their families and laptop sleeves made in San Francisco with a focus on sustainability.

In between classes (and occasionally during class…) I love designing graphics in Photoshop and coming up with new ideas. I also run a few other online startups and I hope to start more social ventures in the future, with an emphasis on eco-friendly and vegetarian things, and one
day be a woman on the Fortune 500.

Freshly Launched :: hunky dori boutique

Launched :: Dori Fitzpatrick

LaunchHER Says :: Hip crocheted hats & beanies up the coolness factor when worn year-round. We especially love the boys’ styles — a ‘tattoo’ or skull beanie? Yes, please!

In HER Words ::

I opened the virtual doors of Hunky Dori Boutique 2011 when I noticed a real lack of fun & hip baby hats while  pregnant with my second baby.  Being a graduate of FIT, I decided to go back to my design roots made a few.  They were a success & have lead to me doing hats for all ages – newborn to adult.  I hand crochet & design all my hats using super soft cottons, acrylics & do some hand stitched techniques on them as well.

I have since become a member of The Artisan Group & I’ve gifted hats to Bethenny Frankel & Denise Richard’s daughters, Alison Sweeney & daughter, & also had a hat appear on the CW’s The Vampire Diaries.  I am venturing into knitting & always expanding on my line!  I especially love custom orders.

{Freshly Launched} Women in Business :: Soulful-Lee Yours

Freshly Launched :: Soulful-lee Yours

Launched :: Misty Chapelle

LaunchHER Says :: Misty’s creations are full of energy. The patina and unique combinations in her jewelry pieces reflect her Cherokee heritage in a modern, sophisticated way. Give last year’s maxi dress new life with a statement piece from Soulful-Lee Yours.

In HER Words :: Hello! My name is Misty Chappelle and I own Soulful-Lee Yours Handcrafted Jewelry. Jewelry design is literally in my DNA- my grandmother Thursa, who is part Cherokee Indian, spent a lot of her free time spinning webs of dream catchers and intricate beading while telling stories of our ancestors. I incorporated her passion for our heritage with my passion for fashion and the unexpected and Soulful-Lee Yours was born.

I am a mother of 4 boys and a full-time preschool teacher, but you will always find me, in my free time, hunched over my jewelry table or devouring the latest fashion blogs and magazines seeking inspiration. I truly believe nothing makes a woman feel more together than the right piece of jewelry, and it is that belief that fuels my desire to stay on trend and provide my customers with fresh and exciting pieces!
I love what I do and hope to one day make my unique and individual, one of a kind pieces full time! I hope you can feel the love and passion that was put into every piece the team at Soulful-lee yours creates. I am lucky enough to have a very creative team, including my closest friends and sister- we love coming up with new and innovative pieces and we hope that translates in our art! Enjoy
