The “little things” :: A Special Thank You from LaunchHER

To say that we don’t get caught up in the number of Facebook fans LaunchHER has, would be a lie.  In fact, as we’re writing this, we have 2,504 fans.  Of course we keep track!  This is the community we interact with on a daily basis.  We use our Facebook page as a place to promote your business, share our business articles, and as a place to just “chat”.  Not only that, but we are sincerely flattered when we see people share LaunchHER posts, or recommend our page to other small business owners.  Facebook fans are very important to us.

LaunchHER Legal and Marketing for Women in BusinessAt one of our usual Monday Meetings about a month ago, we chose a random milestone {2,500 fans} and decided that once we reached that milestone we would offer something special to express our thanks.  We didn’t make a huge hoopla about it, just a simple post here and there, because we want our Facebook page to continue to be a community not just a place where people just come for “free” stuff.  This is about you, and the immense support you have shown us and to the entire LaunchHER network.  We are happy to have reached over 2,500 Facebook Fans!

Maybe you’re asking, what have I done?

You “liked” a recent Freshly Launched post.

You shared.

You introduced yourself.

You found inspiration.

You gave support.

You “liked” another business’ page.

You commented.

You participated in Look @ Me Monday.

You read.

It may seem like a little thing to you, but to us, it’s ALL about the “little things” because they add up to great things. Great, BIG things.

So please, join us tomorrow to see what BIG things we have in store for you – it is a one-day exclusive that we have NEVER offered before.

LaunchHER Top 40 :: Profiles of Women Entrepreneurs 2011

Over the past 12 months, our tongue-in-cheek 40 Under 40 list of women-owned brands has become our most-read post. While the idea behind that list was to fulfill Kara’s personal goal of being named to a 40 Under 40 list while she was still, in fact, under 40, profiling amazing women entrepreneurs was thrilling.

So without further ado, we present the…

New to LaunchHER :: Boutique Elli’Ette Children’s Clothing

launchher network for women entrepreneursNew to LaunchHER :: Boutique Elli’Ette

Welcome :: Kyle Travers

LaunchHER says :: Little girls with bouncing curls…that’s what we envision when we see the lovely clothing and accessories from Boutique Elli’Ette.  Kyle creates fun and whimsical children’s clothing that is perfect for a playdate or that special occasion.  We can’t say enough that we love to see kid’s clothes that are “kid appropriate” but in today’s world, it is an important topic.  Let kids be kids!

In HER words :: I have always loved expressing myself and my creativeness through sewing.  For years I was obsessed with designing and creating my children’s clothing, some of my own, and home dec items.  It only seemed natural that I would start offering my service and creations to others.  I started with commissions for wedding dresses and bridal party outfits as well as period clothing for reenactors locally before the days of the internet, and in 2010 opened my online shop Boutique Elli’Ette, named after my twin granddaughters Elyse (Elli) and Juliet (Ette).

I offer popular and trendy styles with my own little twist:  Knot Dresses, Ruffle Pants, Twirl Skirts, Pillowcase Dresses, Tops, my exclusive design Back-Tie Bow Dresses and Tops, and hair accessories.

I am proud to provide affordable, quality, made-in-the-USA items for the fashion-conscious Mom.

New to LaunchHER :: Madefor3

New to LaunchHER :: Madefor3

LaunchHER says ::  It’s our joy today to introduce you to one of our sponsors, Claire, from Madefor3!  Enjoy reading a bit of her story and checking out her site.  We especially love the story behind her shop’s name!

In HER words :: Hi, my name is Claire, I am in my late 20’s I live with my partner of 13years! I am blessed with my 4 beautiful daughters.  My business is “Madefor3”, I chose the name “Madefor3” as at the time I had 3 daughters and each time I made something I would have to make it another 2 times, making 1 item 3 times, so they all had 1.

Madefor3 started, after a career change in 2010. I wanted to start something from home that would still provide for my family as well as offer the flexibility that is needed when raising a young family.

I started researching blogs and online handmade communities to see what was already “out there” and working. I was instantly inspired and I knew that I had made the right decision; it was now up to me to make my dream work in reality.

My online shop is filled with products that inspire me, something to bring a smile, I love colour and experimenting with different fabric prints.

I originally started with headbands.

A girl can never have too many hair accessories, right?

My girls love hair accessories, but buying 3 lots of headbands, clips and slides was becoming expensive, so I decided to create something that was unique to them and cost effective.

Soon after starting Madefor3, I found out I was expecting my fourth baby, which came as a bit of a surprise, it made me more determined than ever to make my business work for me.

As my pregnancy progressed I started shopping for accessories for the nursery, or in my case “lack of” they were either not suitable or very over priced, so I decided to make my own, which then inspired me to add a range of nursery items into the shop.

My new range includes cushions and bunting (fabric banners).

 I have also started a new design of headbands…..

I am constantly overflowing with new ideas and inspiration, which I write about in my blog, which has also been a great learning experience for me; I have connected with so many great people and made some lovely friends who have helped me along my journey.

Just for LaunchHER readers :: Offer Code LAUNCH for 15% off all products in Madefor3’s shop!
